Abstract

Objective: Evaluation of outcomes of care for patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and the relationship between care activities and outcomes at the Emergency Department of Thuong Tin District General Hospital in 2022.
Subjects and Methods: A cross-sectional, prospective, non-analytical study was performed with 120 chronic obstructive pulmonary disease patients being cared for at the Emergency Department, Thuong Tin District General Hospital from August to December 2022. Evaluation of care outcomes out of a total of 20 nursing activities taking care of patients at the time of admission, day 7, day 15 including Patient care group, monitoring group, and group patient guidance activities, timely interpretation activities and nursing advice.
Results: Among 120 COPD patients at Thuong Tin district general hospital, good care was 70.0% and good care was 30.0%. There are activities to monitor the patient's expression, and timely interpretation of the nurse's advice, which is related to the patient's care results with p < 0.05.
Conclusion The outcome of care for patients with COPD is good, reaching 70.0%. Related to care outcomes are patient follow-up activities, nursing interpretation and consultation activities.
