Berberin được phân lập từ cây Coscinium fenestratum và một số cây trong họ Ranunculaceae có tác dụng chữa vết thương (VT), vết bỏng. Nghiên cứu xác định tác dụng điều trị vết thương mất da ở thỏ của gel nano Berberine do Bệnh viện Bỏng quốc gia Lê Hữu Trác sản xuất.
Tiến hành trên 45 con thỏ, tạo vết thương mất da đường kính 3,5cm ở 2 bên da lưng thỏ (2 vết thương/thỏ), thỏ được chia thành 3 nhóm (15 thỏ, 30 vết thương/nhóm).
+ Nhóm nghiên cứu (A): Điều trị tại chỗ bằng gel nano Berberin.
+ Nhóm chứng (B): Điều trị bằng SSD.
+ Nhóm chuẩn (C): Điều trị bằng nước muối sinh lý 0,9%.
Theo dõi các triệu chứng lâm sàng toàn thân và tại chỗ. Kết quả: Không gặp biểu hiện dị ứng hoặc kích ứng tại chỗ và toàn thân; dịch xuất tiết và viêm nề vết thương nhóm A giảm hơn nhóm B và C; số vết thương khỏi của nhóm A sau 2 tuần và 3 tuần đều cao hơn với nhóm chứng và so sánh; tỷ lệ tái biểu mô và tốc độ biểu mô hoá sau 2 tuần ở nhóm nghiên cứu cũng cao hơn.
Kết luận: Gel nano Berberin điều trị vết thương mất da thực nghiệm cho thấy an toàn, có tác dụng chống viêm, ức chế vi khuẩn, kích thích liền vết thương.
