Albuminial characteristics and some related factors of type 2 diabetic patients at Hanoi Medical University Hospital

Abstract

The study aimed to describe the characteristics of albuminuria and some related factors of patients with type 2 diabetes visiting Hanoi Medical University Hospital in 2021. We used a descriptive cross-sectional study method. In a cross-sectional study of 217 subjects diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, fasting blood glucose, HbA1c, creatinine, cholesterol, HDL-cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, triglycerides, and albuminuria were performed.
The study results showed that the rate of microalbuminuria in patients with type 2 diabetes was 35.0%, and the rate of macroalbuminuria was 27.7%. The study also showed a statistically significant association between the occurrence of albuminuria with advanced age, a long time to detect the disease, a decrease in glomerular filtration rate and an increase in the test indices of HbA1c, blood cholesterol, LDL-C, and triglycerides.
