Successful treatment of 2 cases of verneuil’s disease

Abstract

Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) or Verneuil’s disease is a chronic inflammatory disease involving apocrine glands of the skin. There are a lot of risk factors, smoking and being overweight are the two main factors associated with HS. Verneuil’s disease is diagnosed by its clinical features and its chronic nature, no laboratory test or pathology findings identify it. Severity is generally assessed by the Hurley classification. Treatment is both medical and surgical. Two patients with HS stage III according to Hurley's classification in the report had successful surgery and did not recurrence after 7 - 10 months of discharge.
