Results of radiofrequency ablation (RFA) treatment in non-operable non-small cell lung cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy At the Nghe An Oncology Hospital

Abstract

Methods: A descriptive, prospective study was conducted on 63 non-operative NSCLC patients who met the selection criteria and were not excluded. The patients received RFA with chemotherapy substances from January 2014 to August 2022 at Nghe An Oncology Hospital.
Results: The highest proportion of patients was in the age group 60-69 (47.6%), with an average age of 64.8 ± 7.9 years. The youngest patient was 46 years old and the oldest was 85 years old. The average height was 161.1 ± 5.2 cm, ranging from 150 cm to 176 cm. The average weight was 51.6 ± 7.7 kg, with a range of 38 kg to 72 kg. The largest proportion of patients had a normal BMI (47.6%), followed by those with a thin BMI (38.1%). Overweight and obesity accounted for 14.3%. The mean overall survival time was 20.5 ± 2.0 months, with a range of 4 to 60 months. The overall survival rate declined over time.
Conclusion: The overall survival time of the subjects in the study ranged from 4 to 60 months, with a declining overall survival rate over time. Patients over 60 years old had a lower survival rate compared to those under 60 years old.
