Abstract

Objective: Research and evaluate the results of medical examination, collection, emergency and treatment of patients at the infirmary of level 1 islands of the X archipelago from 2018 to 2022.
Subjects and methods: A cross-sectional, retrospective descriptive study on the characteristics and results of medical examination, collection, emergency and treatment of patients at the infirmary of level 1 islands of the X archipelago from 2018 to 2022.
Results: The total number of patients examined at the infirmary was 26109 times, an average of 435 times /month. The rate of patients receiving treatment accounted for 7.77%. The total number of emergency patients was 512. The emergency rate accounted for 25.25% of the total collection. Disease structure focuses on a number of groups such as Injury, poisoning and consequences of some external causes with the highest rate (23.01 ± 2.20%); Then there are diseases of the skin and subcutaneous tissues, diseases of the respiratory and digestive systems. Among the 5 most common diseases, soft tissue wounds account for the highest rate with 13.06 ± 0.97%, followed by inflammatory skin diseases; Inflammation, acute upper respiratory tract infection; Irritable bowel syndrome and fever of unknown cause.
Treatment for patients at the infirmary is mainly internal medicine, accounting for 71.65%. In 5 years, 144 patients were transported to the mainland using transport: military ships, civilian ships (fishing boats) and airplanes.
Conclusion: The medical examination and treatment at the infirmary of level 1 islands in the 5 years from 2018 to 2022 have completed the task of taking care of the health of soldiers and people in the region.
