Abstract

The Infant and Child Feeding Index (ICFI) is a set of nutrition indicators aimed at achieving appropriate feeding of infants and young children to achieve nutritional outcomes; optimal for the community.
Objective: To assess the nutritional status of 6 to 23-month-old children at the nutrition counseling and vaccination clinic, School of Preventive Medicine and Public Health, from 2022 to 2023.
Subjects and research methods: This is a cross-sectional descriptive study, data on feeding practices were collected from 394 pairs of mothers and their children aged 6-23 months who came to the clinic for consultation. and vaccination at the clinic from January 2022 to March 2023. The ICFI indicators were interviewed specifically for children currently breastfed, bottle-fed, age of starting complementary feeding, number of meals per day, serving size in 24 hours, frequency of food use in 7 days. dịch lại cho phù hợp
Results: The mean total ICFI score was 6.58 ± 1.0. Among the 6 evaluation criteria: breastfeeding, bottle-feeding, number of meals per day, serving size in 24 hours, frequency of food use in 7 days, there were statistically significant differences between the groups. children's age group. (p < 0.001). There is a statistically significant difference in ICFI indicators with malnutrition (SDD) in children (p < 0.05). In contrast, there was no statistical difference in the index of time to start weaning and malnutrition in children (p > 0.05).
Conclusion: The ICFI index can be used to assess infant feeding practices in public health studies. Furthermore, it was used to determine the influence of child-feeding practices on the nutritional status of children.
