Abstract

General anesthesia for non-cardiac surgery in elderly patients with chronic disease is a difficult problem for anesthesiologists because not only the physiology of patients and pharmacokinetics of drugs are changed, but also the rate of cardiovascular events is high. We present a case of a 71-year-old male patient who has low rectal cancer, hypertension, atrial fibrillation, varicose veins. The patient was made successful under general anesthesia for the Miles endoscopic surgery and was cared for at the surgical resuscitation department postoperative. The patient was discharged on the 5th day after surgery.
