Acute pain control in adult burn patients

Abstract
Pain that occurs after burns is due to the stimulation of skin receptors in response to thermal, mechanical and chemical agents. Pain from burn injuries is difficult to control. The current trend is to combine different types of pain relievers and use them by different routes (Multimodal Pain management) during and after surgeries, procedures, and injuries to effectively control pain and reduce unwanted side effects of the drugs.
