Abstract

Objective: We aimed to characterize the ultrastructural of chronic wound response to autologous Platelet - Rich Plasma therapy (PRP).
Methods: We performed a descriptive longitudinal study at the Wound Healing Center of National Burn Hospital, from May 2019 to May 2020. Thirty patients with 33 chronic wounds were was injected subcutaneously inside and around the periphery of the chronic wound by autologous PRP. We biopsied the wound bed tissue before autologous PRP therapy, after 1 and 2 weeks of therapy process to observe the ultrastructural of chronic wounds on Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM).
Results: After autologous PRP therapy, In ultrastructural of the subcutaneous, looking at the inflammatory decreased after 1 week of therapy, and the proliferation of fibroblast and collagen fibers after 2 weeks of therapy.
Conclusion: Autologous PRP supported and promoted the wound healing of a chronic wound.
