Abstract

Aims: The study aims to evaluate the knowledge and factors related to the knowledge of occupational exposure prevention due to sharp objects of nursing students at Yersin University of Dalat in 2023.
Subjects and research methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study, a total population sampling method was used, including all second, third, and fourth-year nursing students at Yersin University of Da Lat, with a total of 158 nursing students.
Results: 67% of students have average or higher knowledge. Factors related to students' knowledge are that 3rd and 4th year students have 2.888 times better knowledge than 2nd year students, with p = 0.03, and students who have had hospital internships have 1.806 times better knowledge than the group who have not been to the hospital, with p = 0.04.
Conclusion: Providing students with knowledge about occupational exposure prevention is essential.
