Abstract

Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) is a common complication in severe burn patients, particularly inhalation injury. Prone positioning as a means of improving gas exchange has shown benefit in refractory cases of ARDS. In burn patients, prone positioning poses major challenges in burn care and monitoring.
Therefore, there have been few published studies using prone positioning in burn patients with severe ARDS. We report the success in the treatment of two severe burn patients with severe ARDS who underwent prone positioning ventilation.
