Abstract

Objective: Evaluation of the effectiveness of laryngeal mask airway anesthesia for customers who have indications for breast augmentation surgery.
Subjects and methodology: A study on 60 customers indicated breast augmentation surgery at the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Center, Department of Anesthesia, Le Huu Trac National Burn Hospital from January to June 2023.
The customers were undergoing general anesthesia according to the protocol with a laryngeal mask airway (LMA) insertion. Record the hemodynamic and respiratory changes at the time points after LMA insertion and removal, the time points of surgery, and the undesirable effects such as sore throat, hoarseness, nausea, and vomiting.
Results: 100% of patients had LMA successfully inserted after only one attempt; the hemodynamic and respiratory parameters were stable at the time of LMA insertion, removal, and throughout the surgery; no patient had symptoms of nausea and vomiting, a sore throat, or hoarseness.
Conclusion: Anesthesia with LMA for breast augmentation surgery provides safety, hemodynamics, stable breathing, and no side effects related to anesthesia.
