Evaluation of health education activities at Le Huu Trac National Burn Hospital in 2022

Abstract
Aims: To assess the quality of nurses' health education through feedback from burn patients getting inpatient care at the hospital, as well as certain associated aspects.
Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted to describe nurses' health education efforts based on evaluation findings from 500 patients and their families receiving inpatient care at Le Huu Trac National Burn Hospital in 2022.
Results: The proportion of patients and patients' families who rated the quality level of health education of nurses as good was 55%, good 26.8%, average 13.4%, and unsatisfactory 4.8%. Some health education guidelines for nurses to patients were limited and not fully implemented: instructions for preventing burn accidents (50%); instructions on common burn complications (31.4%); nutritional guidance after discharge (28.2%); pressure ulcer prevention instructions (25%); instructions for health improvement exercises at home before discharge from the hospital (17%). There is a relationship between the results of assessing nurses' health education efforts and the patient's age, educational level, and occupation (p < 0.05).
Conclusion: The majority of patients and their families rate the quality of nurses' health education as satisfactory or higher. There is a correlation between the results of assessing nurses' health education activities and patients' age, educational level, and occupation.
