Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the early outcomes of surgical correction of post-traumatic nasal framework deformities at Military Hospital 175 at 1 month after surgery.
Subjects and Methods: A prospective descriptive study without a control group was conducted using a longitudinal pre- and postoperative follow-up design. The study included 62 patients diagnosed with post-traumatic nasal framework deformities who underwent reconstructive nasal surgery at Military Hospital 175 between January 2023 and December 2025. Early outcomes were assessed 1 month postoperatively.
Results: A total of 62 patients were enrolled, with a mean age of 33.4 ± 10.2 years; males accounted for 79.0% of cases. Preoperative septal deviation and nasal obstruction were observed in 69.4% and 75.8% of patients, respectively. At 1 month, 32 of 47 patients with preoperative nasal obstruction (68.1%; 95% CI, 53.8–79.6) reported no obstruction. The mean Nasal Obstruction Symptom Evaluation (NOSE) score significantly decreased from 63.8 ± 14.2 to 18.6 ± 10.7 (p < 0.001). Excellent/good aesthetic outcomes and very satisfied/satisfied ratings were each observed in 52 of 62 patients (83.9%; 95% CI, 72.8–91.0). The most common complication was mild asymmetry (6.5%).
Conclusion: Surgical correction of post-traumatic nasal framework deformities provides significant improvements in both nasal function and aesthetic appearance, with high patient satisfaction and a low complication rate.
